Attached is the full report from the 2009 Central Texas HIV/AIDS Client Needs Assessment. The needs assessment was commissioned by the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, through the use of Ryan White Part B funds received from the Texas Department of State Health Services, and conducted by the Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health Center for Community Health Development. In the summer of 2008, an update to the 2006 needs assessment was conducted. This update is composed of a focus group and key informant interviews and covers people living in the Bryan - College Station, Concho Plateau, Temple - Killeen, and Waco HSDAs.

The focus of the assessment is to learn the factors that get people in to and help them stay in medical care. Participants were recruited based on having been considered out of care at some point, or having dropped out of care at any point.

The following is the BVCOG Community Input Plan, revised and updated for 2008. Some of the input methods include use of a toll free number (866-841-7288), use of pre-site visit client satisfaction questionnaires, site visits with providers (including key informant interviews with staff and clients, and file reviews), electronic distribution of materials, and public hearings.
